About:- Clam AntiVirus is free software, cross-platform and open-source antivirus software toolkit able to detect many types of malicious software, including viruses. One of its main uses is on mail servers as a server-side email virus scanner

Step 1. Install epel repository

yum -y install epel-release

Step 2. Install ClamAV

yum -y install clamav-server clamav-data clamav-update clamav-filesystem clamav clamav-scanner-systemd clamav-devel clamav-lib clamav-server-systemd

Step 3. Configuring SELinux

setsebool -P antivirus_can_scan_system 1
setsebool -P clamd_use_jit 1

Step4. Verify the changes

getsebool -a | grep antivirus

Step 5.Configuring ClamAV

sed -i -e "s/^Example/#Example/" /etc/clamd.d/scan.conf

Step6. Open the configuration file

vi /etc/clamd.d/scan.conf

Find the following line:

# LocalSocket /var/run/clamd.scan/clamd.sock
Remove the # symbol and save your changes.

Now, remove Example string from ClamAV’s freshclam update engine configuration file:
sed -i -e "s/^Example/#Example/" /etc/freshclam.conf

Step7. Update the antivirus signatures


Step 8. Start and enable the Clamd service

systemctl start clamd@scan
systemctl enable clamd@scan

Check the version
clamd --v
