It’s an open-source Reporting tool.

Step1. Install package

yum install -y unzip wget

Step2. Create a Tomcat User

adduser tomcat
passwd tomcat

Step3. Download and unzip tomcat 8

su – tomcat
wget  http://mirrors.estointernet.in/apache/tomcat/tomcat-8/v8.5.45/bin/apache-tomcat-8.5.45.zip
unzip apache-tomcat-8.5.45.zip

Step4. Set path

$ export CATALINA_HOME=/home/tomcat/apache-tomcat-8.5.45
$ cd $CATALINA_HOME/bin
$ sh catalina.sh start

Note: During start, if you get any error make sure java must installed

sh catalina.sh start
Error: Neither the JAVA_HOME nor the JRE_HOME environment variable is defined

Step5. Download java

wget --no-cookies --no-check-certificate --header "Cookie:oraclelicense=accept-securebackup-cookie" http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/8u131-b11/d54c1d3a095b4ff2b6607d096fa80163/jdk-8u131-linux-x64.rpm

Step6. Install file using rpm

rpm -ivh  jdk-8u131-linux-x64.rpm

Step7. Check version

java -version

Step8. verify Tomcat Manager UI

http://{your-ip-address}:8080

Step9. Download the BIRT Runtime Viewer

su - tomcat
wget http://mirrors.xmission.com/eclipse/birt/downloads/drops/R-R1-4_4_1-201409161320/birt-runtime-4_4_1-20140916.zip

Step10. Unzip file

unzip birt-runtime-4_4_1-20140916.zip
cd birt-runtime-4_4_1
export CATALINA_HOME=/home/tomcat/apache-tomcat-8.5.45
cp -r WebViewerExample $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/birt-viewer

Step11. Verify Birt Viewer

http://{your-ip-address}:8080
Or
http://{your-ip-address}:8080/birt-viewer/
