NFS (Network File System), is a server-client protocol which we used for sharing files between two systems. NFS protocol provides the ability to mount a remote share filesystem locally in client-side.

Package Requirement:-

NFS-utils
NFS Server IP
NFS Client IP

———————————— Server Side ————————————

Step1. Install package

yum install nfs-utils

Step2. Create the share directory.

mkdir /share

Step3. Set permission

chown 755 /share
chown nfsnobody:nfsnobody /share

Step4. Enable and start service

systemctl start nfs-server
systemctl enable nfs-server
systemctl status nfs-server

Step5. Export shared directory on NFS server.

vim /etc/exports/share 192.168.122.32(rw,sync,no_root_squash)

Step6. Restart NFS service

systemctl restart nfs-server

————————————– Client Side ————————————

Step1. Install package

yum install nfs-utils

Step2. Create the share directory

mkdir /nfsshare

Step3. Check shared directory using command

showmount -e 192.168.122.236

Step4. Mount the NFS directory and test

mount 192.168.122.236:/share /nfsshare/

Step5. Create file in /nfsshare directory

cd /nfsshare
touch techservicedoc
