It’s logical volume manager

Step1. Add drive

Add multiple drive in VMware workstation VM
Create LVM drives using below commands and save it
fdisk /dev/sda
fdisk /dev/sdb
fdisk /dev/sdc
Reboot the Machine..  

Step2. Create/format/mount volume

Create Physical Volume
pvcreate /dev/sda5  /dev/sdb5  /dev/sdc5
Create Volume Group
vgcreate vg_data /dev/sda5  /dev/sdb5  /dev/sdc5
Run command  to verify Volume group
Create Logical Volume
lvcreate -L 100M -m1 -n lv_data vg_data
Format LVM Partition
mkfs.ext4  /dev/mapper/vg_data-lv_data
Create a Directory
mkdir /u01
Mount LVM Partition
mount /dev/mapper/vg_data-lv_data /u01/
df -h
Create files in mounted Directory
cd /u01
touch files{0..500}       ----Note: Create 500 files in this directory
Reboot the Machine ……

Step3. Verify/Delete partition

Check the LVM partition with data
df -h   
Mount the LVM Partition and try again
mount /dev/mapper/vg_data-lv_data /u01/
df -h
Delete the one partition and Reboot the VM.
fdisk /dev/sda
Press d and type 5
save with W option 
Reboot the Machine …

Step4. Scan partition

Run below commands 

Step5. Partical activate volume

vgchange -a y --partial vg_data
Remove Missing PV from VG using below command
vgreduce --removemissing vg_data
vgreduce --removemissing vg_data  --force

Step6. Mount partition

mount /dev/mapper/vg_data-lv_data /u01/
df -h  
cd /u01
